How can
The Work Programme help your business? The Work Programme is an integral part of the Government’s reforms to the welfare system providing a package of support for people out-of-work, regardless of the benefits they claim. It replaced all existing back-to-work schemes including the Flexible New Deal (FND). It provides tailored support for thousands of long term benefit claimants. The contracts are funded on a payment by results basis and Contractors are ultimately paid from the money saved by supporting people off benefits and into work. The service can be adapted to best meet the needs of people seeking work and prepare them for employer vacancies. About Serco Serco was appointed by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) as one of the providers to deliver the Work Programme in South Yorkshire and the West Midlands. Through these contracts, Serco’s network of public, private and voluntary sector providers support local jobseekers into sustainable employment. Their flexible approach to meeting the needs of people seeking work has resulted in Serco’s involvement in the creation of the Institute of Customer Management to promote and professionalise contact centres, attract new entrants and support their Career Paths. The ICM uses Government funds where applicable. Serco contract manages and quality assures their work while also supporting the network with financial management, technology infrastructure, implementation, logistics expertise and capacity building support. We also ensure the network supports individual and groups of employers to provide a stream of good candidates for employment opportunities.
